Socrates was a very simple man who did not have many material possessions and spoke in a plain, conversational manner. Socrates often engaged in conversations with people who claimed to be ââ¬Å"expertsâ⬠. He would question them on issues that, if they were the ââ¬Å"expertsâ⬠they claimed to be they would have the correct answer in seconds. Socrates often made these ââ¬Å"expertsâ⬠look quite foolish when he would prove them wrong in front of many other citizens. Platoââ¬â¢s Euthyphro is about one day when Socrates was on his way to the courthouse he ran into Euthyphro (a young Athenian priest). Socrates began a discussion with Euthyphro about the definition of holiness. à à à à à When asked about the definition of holiness, Euthyphro give Socrates three definitions and Socrates was able to prove all three of them to be wrong. The first was that holiness was the life that Euthyphro lived. Socrates disputed this definition stating that even though the life that Euthyphro lived was holy, it was not the definition of holiness (if it was the exact definition then only Euthyphro would be holy). Next Euthyphro says that holiness is found in what is dear to the gods. Socrates shoots this definition down because this definition is not distinct, the Greek gods were somewhat humanlike, what was holy to one god might be despised by the next. The third and finally definition Euthyphro offers Socrates is, ââ¬Å"what is holy is loved by the godsâ⬠. However Euthyphro canââ¬â¢t answer weather something is holy because it is loved, or loved because it is holy, making this final definition unjust. All of Euthyphroââ¬â¢s definitions are examples o f holiness. à à à à à During Platoââ¬â¢s Apology, Socrates reveals his definition of holiness to a courtroom full of jurors. Socrates explains that holiness is serving the gods by serving other using ones abilities no matter what the consequence: and to know what is right is to do what is right. Socrates definition is just and universal. It does not single anyone out to be more holy then anyone else and allows anyone to be holy. à à à à à I feel that Socratesââ¬â¢ definition of holiness is very reasonable because it covers every aspect. am i? :: essays research papers Socrates was a very simple man who did not have many material possessions and spoke in a plain, conversational manner. To avoid suspicions, a Spyphone must be given either as a present (for family members monitoring) or given as company equipment (for personnel monitoring). Naturally, if you want to listen to a personââ¬â¢s conversation, they must be using the phone on which the spy software has been installed. It is important to clarify that the GSM spy cellphone is not a phone that you can use to listen to conversations involving other people around you; on the contrary, this is a handset whose conversations can be listened to from an unlimited distance. To be able to listen to environmental conversations taking place around the spy phone, you must call it from your phone (the so called monitoring phone). The spy cellphone software will recognize the caller as a controlling number, and will silently activate the microphone, allowing you to listen to conversations around the phone within a range of a few meters. To intercept a telephone conversation, you will have to wait for a phone call to star t, which will be notified to you with an SMS message. At this point you will be able to call the spy telephone from the monitoring number, and listen to the phone call in real time, and without being noticed. To intercept text messages, both incoming and outgoing, you just have to send an SMS to the spyphone, containing a command string which will activate the relevant function. To locate the GPS position of the spy mobile phone, you can send another text command by SMS, and within a few minutes, the spy phone will reply with an SMS that indicates the geographical coordinates of its position. At this point, just enter the coordinates on Google Maps or Google Earth, and you will be immediately able to see the exact location of the spy cellphone at that time. If you are very busy, and have no time to call and listen in real time, you can activate the recording function, which will automatically record all calls and environmental conversations, and at a later stage send them directly to your e-mail address. This function is activated just like all others, and that is, by sending an SMS, which just like all other operating commands will not be displayed on the spy phone screen. In fact, all functions can be activated via SMS, and in the same fashion they can be disabled one by one. Our GSM spyphones have a wide range of applications like monitoring older people or children, or to protect your assets or personal interests. They are not meant to be used for any illegal purpose. Our spy software is installed manually. The spy file is sent via infrared or Bluetooth connection, from your computer or another phone. This aspect can help us in difficult cases: for example, if you are not able to have your target use a spy phone that you can give as a present or a benefit, all you need to do is get hold of their phone for a few minutes, and quickly transfer the spy software from your phone via Bluetooth, installing the software within a few seconds, without leaving any visible sign. Once the spy software is correctly installed, the job is done. All functions can be individually enabled, disabled or configured remotely via SMS. All SMS messages containing operating instructions are absolutely invisible: the spyphone receives them, but they are grabbed by the spy software and will not show up on the display or give out any sign of activity. With our product you can connect indoor and outdoor thermometers. From a distance you can check the temperature, receive an SMS if the set temperature is exceeded and even specify the individual room temperature. Motivational Theories and Factors - 863 Words
Motivational Theories and Factors According to DuBrin, ââ¬Å"â⬠¦motivation is an energizing force that stimulates arousal, direction, and persistence of behaviorâ⬠(2004, p. 121). It is the force inside the individual and process which allows us to get others to put forth effort. There are many motivational theories that can be used to motivate others (DuBrin, 2004). In the workplace, managers may need to find ways to motivate their employees. Three ways a manager might motivate their employees are: Setting goals, using operant conditioning to change behaviors, and using monetary incentives. These may all be used to motivate employees (DuBrin, 2004). Goals are what motivate us and others to strive to achieve accomplishments either set byâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Vroom does not attempt to explain a personââ¬â¢s motivation like Maslow. Instead, he explains how people arrive at decisions to achieve the end they value. Both can be motivated by needs and self-esteem (Scholl, 2002). While financial incentives can be a good motivational tool, it can also have drawbacks. By offering monetary, promotions, or employee benefits to employees, it can increase an employeeââ¬â¢s performance and production. However, the drawbacks to this are: a decrease in teamwork and inequitable rewards. If a person is working toward a goal to receive a monetary reward, he will most likely be less of a team player due to competition with coworkers. If monetary rewards go by income, a person who makes less will receive less monetary rewards than someone who receives a higher salary. An example of this is profit sharing (Ehow Money, 2012). Sometimes it may be better to have monetary rewards given as a team effort or equitable financial rewards for the same job performance. References DuBrin, A. (2004). Applying Psychology (8th ed.).
